Bring on those baby blues.
There is something quite beautiful about selecting a ‘hero’ colour to wear this winter. Traditionally when you think of the cooler months, the winter knits and layers all tend to be greys, black and whites. The neutrals you can never go wrong with, however its colours I’m particularly fond of adding to add a point of difference when dressing for winter. And to break up my regular go-tos. This is how to wear blue this winter.
Soft baby blue. This coat is sublime and the knit so comfortable. Together I like to create a tonal statement when I style outfits either for myself or for my clients as my goal is to create a story.
Denim is more often than not a daily favourite of mine and teaming almost a block coloured look to pair back with this essential makes it more interesting than teamed with a ‘safe’ neutral knit. However, as we all know, we dress depending on our mood and what kind of image we feel like portraying on a particular day. (We’re women and yes, sometimes a little complicated!)
Today I’m all about baby blues – to fellow blondes, this is a great colour for us.
When it comes to this time of the year I find myself investing in coats and jackets more than the basics. I like to be warm and I like transforming an outfit with one final outerwear piece. This wonderful coat has a tie-style which makes for easy wearing either tied up or open and undone.
We love an item that works for us and a coat such as this is incredibly versatile. Going to the football and cheering on your favourite club, watching kids sport whilst sitting on the (freezing) sidelines or layering over your work attire in the bitterly cold winter mornings it works for all and is a functional piece your wardrobe can’t do without.
If you are like me (and many others) and tend to stick to a winter uniform, finishing off your ensemble with a statement coat really does add a glamour factor in less than a minute.
